Hi, I’m David – the founder of DMG Groundworks. I run a dedicated groundworks company covering the South of England, primarily working across Sussex, Kent, and Surrey.

My journey in construction started early, working in my dad’s building company where I gained hands-on experience in bricklaying, roofing, plastering, and general building work, along with essential groundworks such as site preparation and footing installation for housing projects. While I’ve always had a solid background in the trades, I also discovered a deep passion for the outdoors, which led me to study farming and agriculture at Plumpton College.

For five years, I worked as a contract farmer throughout Sussex and Kent, before returning to the trades – this time with a clear focus. I realised that groundworks was what I truly loved. Whether it’s concreting, operating diggers, or working with heavy machinery, being on-site and seeing a project come together from the ground up gives me real satisfaction.

After two years working with James Paranaby Groundworks, I took the leap and launched DMG Groundworks at the start of 2024. Born and bred in Sussex, I take pride in being a local business owner who’s genuinely passionate about the work I do.
